Ultra Running Camp

It's no secret that Squamish and Whistler are home to epic trails, miles of single track and an incredible high alpine network.  This is a world class training ground that everyone should experience. For the first time ever, CBC is offering a multi-day running camp in the Sea to Sky area.  We invite runners who are looking to learn, explore, experience and develop as a trail athlete to join us at our Squamish Basecamp this June for five amazing days of on trail, coached running.  If you are looking to increase your mileage, tackle an ultra this summer or just want to learn and improve as a runner, this is a great way to kick start you into the summer running months.

Use this camp to:
Submerge yourself on world class trails.
Prepare for summer races and future ultra goals.
Train with people who also posess the true trail spirit just like you.
Develop ALL aspects of being a trail athlete and taking your running to the next level.

CAMP DETAILS:
5 days/4 nights
1-2 Coached Running Excursions each day ranging from forested singletrack to high alpine mountain passes.
On trail technique, run form and movement coaching
Daily Yoga, Stretch and Recover Sessions
Ongoing Q+A and opportunities to have all your run related questions answered.
Exploration and experience on all terrain types while enjoying trails in the Whistler-Squamish area.

Is this CAMP FOR YOU?
You do not need to be elite or a trail speedster to participate. This training camp is not just for ultra runners but rather for athletes who are looking to increase their miles and learn all there is to about trails, trail running, trail adventures and trail racing!
Runs will range between 15-25km each day and we are running for 5 days. We ask that all participants can comfortably run 25km and are familiar with running back to back days at a steady pace. Contact Jen if you are unsure of your ability. 

WHAT's INCLUDED:
Daily coaching, trail guided runs.
Daily Yoga
Individual attention of performance based learning feedback.
Breakfast at basecamp HQ each morning and on-trail lunches
Snacks + energy food plus post run recovery smoothies and treats
A BBQ west coast salmon dinner one evening
All transportation to trails/trail heads and point to point run shuttles

WHAT's NOT INCLUDED:
Accommodations (see below for host hotel, this will also be Camp HQ - special rates and very affordable!)
Dinner (other then the west coast salmon BBQ as per above) and lunch should we be in-town.
*Note - we will have a group dinner booking every night and will dine together!
Travel/Airfare

WHAT's OPTIONAL:

50% off Lactate Testing on the Tuesday before camp starts

TIMEFRAME, LOGISTICS + GEAR:
Feel free to arrive to Squamish and book yourself into the hotel for the Tuesday, June 12th night.  Camp will officially begin late morning on the Wednesday, 13th, allowing time for those who need to drive into town that day to do so. Camp will wrap up Sunday afternoon.
Please notify Jen if you would like to schedule yourself in for a heart rate zone lactate test on Tuesday 12th.  Ideal for athletes who would like to train with heart rate monitors in the months ahead.
A car is not necessary although those flying in from airport may like to rent a small vehicle to allow more flexibility during free time. There are locals attending the camp too so I'm sure that "grouping it together to chill" will be the game plan!
A final GEAR list will be sent in the days prior to camp. Weather in Squamish in June is coastal meaning - be prepared for anything!

REGISTRATION

$750 + HST per person
Space limited to 12 runners.
A $250 deposit required to reserve spot.  Remainder due 1 month prior to camp start date (May 13th, 2012)
Download the RUN CAMP FORM 2012 and the PAR Q - both are needed and describe registration.

ACCOMODATIONS + CAMP HQ

Executive Suites Garibaldi - 1 and 2 bedroom suites with kitchen available
You will need to BOOK AND RESERVE your room RIGHT AWAY as our camp weekend falls on the busy Test of Metal Bike Race
weekend.  Please contact Jen directly for our camp rate special pricing. Keep it cheap and sign up with a friend and share the accommodations. Rates are reasonable.

Camp HQ will also be located at the hotel. This is where we will meet each morning for breakfast, class-room style learning, evening stretch and hot tub etc. It's located right on the trails in a beautiful setting.  Camp HQ is where we will re-group seeing as several runners who are local to Squamish will be staying at their own homes)
